  87. .SH DESCRIPTION
  88. .IX Header "DESCRIPTION"
  89. The \fBLHASH\fR structure records statistics about most aspects of
  90. accessing the hash table.
  91. .PP
  92. \&\fBOPENSSL_LH_stats()\fR prints out statistics on the size of the hash table and how
  93. many entries are in it. For historical reasons, this function also outputs a
  94. number of additional statistics, but the tracking of these statistics is no
  95. longer supported and these statistics are always reported as zero.
  96. .PP
  97. \&\fBOPENSSL_LH_node_stats()\fR prints the number of entries for each 'bucket' in the
  98. hash table.
  99. .PP
  100. \&\fBOPENSSL_LH_node_usage_stats()\fR prints out a short summary of the state of the
  101. hash table. It prints the 'load' and the 'actual load'. The load is
  102. the average number of data items per 'bucket' in the hash table. The
  103. \&'actual load' is the average number of items per 'bucket', but only
  104. for buckets which contain entries. So the 'actual load' is the
  105. average number of searches that will need to find an item in the hash
  106. table, while the 'load' is the average number that will be done to
  107. record a miss.
  108. .PP
  109. \&\fBOPENSSL_LH_stats_bio()\fR, \fBOPENSSL_LH_node_stats_bio()\fR and \fBOPENSSL_LH_node_usage_stats_bio()\fR
  110. are the same as the above, except that the output goes to a \fBBIO\fR.
  111. .PP
  112. These functions are deprecated and should no longer be used.
